CSERC (Grid Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations, 2019

The Chhattisgarh State Electricity Regulatory Commission (CSERC) on October 04, 2019, has published the CSERC (Grid Interactive Distributed Renewable Energy Sources) Regulations, 2019.

These Regulations will apply to:

a)       Prosumer Distributed Renewable Energy System (PDRES) owned by prosumer or Third Party Owned. In the third party owned Solar Power Project, the following will apply:

i.                     A Rooftop or Land Owner may lease out / rent the premise to a Solar Project Developer on a mutual commercial arrangement. The Commercial arrangement between the project developer and the premise owner will be submitted to the Distribution Licensee for records.

ii.                   The billing will be with one of the two parties that is decided and informed to the Distribution Licensee as a party authorized to bill.

b)      Independent Distributed Renewable Energy System (IDRES) installed in the area of supply of the distribution licensee.

These Regulations do not preclude the right of any person to undertake renewable energy projects through alternative mechanism.

Further it includes:

1.       Renewable Purchase Obligation;

2.       Technical Standards and Safety, Metering Infrastructure;

3.       Net Metering Arrangement;

4.       Independent Distributed Renewable Energy Systems

These Regulations will come into force from the date of notification in the Official Gazette.
