Business Reforms Action Plans, 2019 regarding joint inspection of the factories

The Governor of Mizoram on March 25, 2019, has allowed the Department of Labour Employment, Skill Development and Entrepreneurship to conduct joint inspection of the factories under the following Acts to ease compliance by the industry and to achieve the interest of the workers as per the mandate of the Acts applicable to the factories or industries. Joint inspection will be done / conducted under the following Acts:

(i)            The Factories Act, 1948;

(ii)          The Maternity Benefit Act, 1961;

(iii)         The Minimum Wages Act, 1948;

(iv)         The Mizoram Shops and Establishments Act, 2010;

(v)          The Building and other constructions (RECS) Act, 1996;

(vi)         The Payment of Wages Act, 1936;

(vii)       The Payment of Gratuity Act, 1972; and

(viii)     The Contract Labour (Regulation and Abolition) Act, 1970.

This Notification will come into force with immediate effect.
